Maryland Bobcats

“Bringing Professional Soccer to Maryland”

Maryland Bobcats began 15 years ago in a college dorm room, with a group of friends who dreamed about one day owning a soccer team together. 5 years later, that dream was realized. Those same friends formed a team and joined the historic Maryland Majors Soccer League (MMSL), with 3 simple goals: to keep having fun, play soccer with their friends, and continue to compete.

After 8 successful years in the Maryland Majors Soccer League, the club made the jump to the UPSL and haven't looked back since. In Spring 2019, the club reached the UPSL National Quarterfinals, and in the Fall, the club went undefeated in the regular season before winning the Division Tournament and Conference Championship to earn a spot in the Final Four in Miami. After two comeback wins in two days, the club brought the UPSL National Championship trophy home to Maryland.

In the summer of 2020, the club announced that they would be joining the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), finally fulfilling their founders’ dream of bringing professional soccer to Maryland. Through joining NISA, they have become the only men’s professional outdoor soccer team in Maryland, and the first since Crystal Palace Baltimore dissolved in 2010.

Based in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, the club is a fully minority-owned club with a majority minority roster. They’ve become just the second NISA club with Black ownership - joining 1904 FC - and beyond playing fantastic soccer, aim to help, give back, inspire and support the local community that cheers them on. Creating opportunity for minority players, coaches and staff members has been a key principal from the beginning, and the club’s new professional status will only enhance the opportunities it can offer.

MARYLAND PRIDE

The Old Line State

For these kits, we wanted to blend the Bobcat colorway and pay homage to the club’s home state.

From the burgundy red on the torso, to the coats of arms found on the sleeves and side-strips, this kit is unmistakably inspired the state flag and helps the Bobcats demonstrate their Maryland pride.

Simple yet Distinctive

A silhouette of a roaring bobcat makes an otherwise traditional jersey personal and unique.

Claw marks across the kits replace a traditional “sash,” in keeping with the Bobcats theme.
