Fall River Marksmen FC was originally founded in 1922 during the Golden Era of US soccer, when teams averaged tens of thousands of fans per game and rivalled the best teams in the world.
The Marksmen dominated this period of the game, winning six American Soccer League (ASL) championships alongside four National Challenge Cups (now known as the U.S. Open Cup). In 1930 they even toured Central Europe to compete against some of the then-best sides in the world, such as SK Slavia Praha and Ferencváros.
Sadly, the club relocated and rebranded as the New York Yankees in 1931 due to the effects of the Great Depression, and they soon folded due to the economic troubles of the time.
But in 2019 the club was revived, and Icarus was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to design their first new kits in almost a century.

How do you honor the history of a club that’s playing its first season since 1931? With a lace collar of course.
CREST

From a Client’s Sketch to Reality
Since the original Fall River Marksmen didn’t have a crest, we were tasked with designing one. After a quick client sketch outlined the features that they wanted to represent, we got to work.
Our final design paid homage to the city’s landmark arches as well as the rich history of the club, embodied by the leather football in the center of the crest.
